Our Community


As we drove up to our church on Sunday, January 26, 2003, a bright blue banner waved in the breeze on the corner of Heathcote and Post Roads.

When we got into the sanctuary, this beautiful arrangement of wheat greeted us.

Both carried the message:

Please care about hunger and share what you can!

SOuper Bowl It was SOUPER Bowl Sunday, 2003.

Here a member of the Confirmation Class helps Phil Washburn explain that for some this may be "Super Bowl Sunday," but right now it is "Souper Bowl Sunday" for us. In this case, the word "soup" stands for all kind of food - food which will be purchased with the dollars we place in the soup bowls at the end of the service.

To show how it's done, another member of the Confirmation Class holds a large soup bowl and encourages Phil to place not one dollar, but several dollars, in the bowl. Money in the Soup Dish
Now it's your turn to give. At the end of the service five members of the Confirmation Class greeted us - each with a large soup bowl, awaiting our generous contribution.
