About the Scarsdale Congregational Church

One of the workshops

Case study workshops were the centerpiece of the Fall Meeting of the Metropolitan Association of the New York Conference, UCC, Saturday, November 23, 2002. Theme of the meeting was "Local Church Revitalization" which, simply stated, means:

Though these are simple statements, implementing them is anything but simple.

Host church was the Community Church of the Pelhams, whose pastor is Rev. Susan Gibson.

Pictured above is one of the workshops; apparently all were so good, no one wanted them to end, but those organizing the meeting encouraged us to "keep to the schedule".

Lucy Werner presents a report which includes what prompted the Association to have these workshops and also reports on Pilgrim, UCC, which, at the meeting, covenanted with the Association to re-vitalize its church.

John Werner provides a report on the meeting which gives you an insight into the specifics of some of the workshops.

Alison Rose gives a report on the two workshops she attended.

Glen Nygreen reflects on how important meeetings like this are to increasing his awareness of the varieties of way to worship God.

Lucy reports on the morning devotions, budget and other matters brought before the meeting.
