Advent (which comes from the Latin Adventus, the coming or the arrival) starts on the Sunday nearest
to St. Andrew's Day (November 30) and is "the beginning of the church year". It is a period of preparation for
the celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas.

During the four Sundays in Advent, families lit the four Advent candles. The Christ candle was lit at the 5 PM service on Christmas Eve. And, as pictured here, all five candles were re-lit on Sunday, December 26.

December 19 worship including music by the Youth Choir.
Christmas Eve Family Service - 5:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Worshippers received a booklet of poetry written by the Church School students. The poems are offered here in six parts, illustrated with photographs from the 5:00 PM service.
