Our name, the Scarsdale Congregational
Church, more than hints
at our identity. We are Congregationalists - that is to say, as a
congregation we govern ourselves. We call our clergy, set our own
budget and determine all major issues affecting our corporate life. In
essense, we bear the responsibility for ourselves as a Church. Here we
gather in a corporate meeting to make these decisions.
The guidelines by which we govern ourselves are open to all who wish to
view them. Our chief governing body, the General Board, is open to all
participants in the fellowship who wish to attend. Our Corporate
Meetings
are also open.
Eligible Voters are those 16 and over who have covenanted
with our church and others 16 and over who have attended worship for
one year and contributed to the financial support of our church.
Here are some of the ways you can help. Here are some of the guidelines
by which we carry out our responsibilities. Reports of our governance
and of our support for our church family are updated frequently.
