Program Description
Inchworm Day Camp at The Scarsdale Congregational Church Nursery School is a nonsectarian program offering a wide variety of fun summer activities for preschoolers. Our program, which is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary this year, is structured on the belief that play is important to children in learning about themselves, other people and the world they live in.
Camp activites include:
• Arts and Crafts
• Music and Singing
• Movement and Dance
• Story Time
• Nature Study
• Outdoor play and sprinkler time
• Fun Activities for Rainy Days
• Special Theme Days
Inchworm offers a warm, friendly, nurturing environment. Each group is staffed with two adult professionally-certified teachers and one to two volunteer aids. The program offers many enhancements to camp, including a music specialist and a nature program for all groups.
Facilities
Our facilities include six spacious, newly-renovated, ground-level rooms. Some rooms are air conditioned. There are four classrooms, a block room; and a large open room used for music, creative movement and rainy-day play. Two separate playgrounds feature modern equipment intended to help the children have fun while stimulating the development of their gross motor skills. To see our facilities please click here.
