On March 15, 2003, we tried a "new thing" - separating the Furniture Sale from other sales, to assure the furniture could be shown in Dyckman Hall without provisions for a Rain Day. Art joined the sale, filling the stage on this highly successful day.
Fair Day November 2, 2002 drawned bright and crisp. Hundreds flocked through the doors from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM - and many took advantage of the outdoor booths such as furniture and sporting goods.
The weather for Saturday, November 3, 2001, wasn't quite as good, but the November mists and rain drops couldn't hold back the enthusiasm of the shoppers and volunteers at the 55th Annual Fair.
In recent years, we have added a Spring Garage Sale, the most recent of which was May 18, 2002. Again, "great success" was an appropriate descriptor, as was the sale a year earlier on May 19, 2001.
From the 2000 Fair, here are three opportunities to see the wonderful folks who made these events happen:
And here's a peek at the May 2000 Sale.
In 2000, the Garage Sale had its own supplement - the wildly successful July 22 furniture, book and electrical sale.
Books continue to be one of the most popular items - both for donations and sales. Best guess is that something close to 8,000 books found new homes in our November 2, 2002 sale.
These sales are a wonderful service to those who purchase the high-quality, low-priced goods. They are
the perfect way to re-cycle things that not longer have a place in your life. And the fellowship
enjoyed by those who buy, prepare and sell is hard to beat.
