Our Governance, Bylaws



ARTICLE XIII

DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES

Delegates and alternates to the Metropolitan Association and the New York State Conference of the United Church of Christ, to the number authorized, shall be elected at the annual corporate meeting for a term of one year. The expenses of the delegates shall be charged to the current operations budget. Before delegates depart for their meetings the Moderator may call a congregational meeting to ascertain the views of the congregation on issues expected to be voted on. Delegates shall make a report to the General Board when appropriate, and file an annual report of their activities with the Clerk of the Church.

ARTICLE XIV

CHURCH-RELATED ORGANIZATIONS

Organizations that have been officially recognized by the General Board as Church-related shall have their own bylaws, elect their own officers, and raise and account for their own funds. Each officially recognized organization shall file with the Clerk of the Church a year end report of its activities.
 
 

ARTICLE XV

FISCAL YEAR

The fiscal year of the Church shall be the calendar year.

ARTICLE XVI

AMENDMENTS

These Bylaws may be amended at a corporate meeting by a two-thirds affirmative vote, provided that the proposed amendments have been presented for preliminary consideration at a prior corporate meeting. The notice for each of these two corporate meetings shall describe the substance of the proposed amendments and state that copies of the text are available in the Church office.

ARTICLE XVII

TRANSITION ARTICLE


Amendments to these Bylaws shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
