Music is essential to the life and worship of Scarsdale Congregational Church.  Through music we express our souls and give glory to God.  In music we hear God's voice and are spiritually filled.  With our adult choir, children's choirs and organ, and with the voices and talents of our congregation, we seek to engage all in the wonders and joys of musical expression.

We are a singing congregation, enthusiastically joining in four hymns every service (and sometimes more). Our hymn book is Hymns, Psalms & Spiritual Songs (1990).  Each Easter, members of the congregation come up to the chancel and join the choir in the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.

We also have special musical events, such as a fully costumed and staged presentation of the children's musical Jonah, which was presented in 2009.  In recent years, two oratorios written by members of the congregation were performed during Sunday worship.  Soloists and small ensembles from the congregation occasionally participate in services.  Our marvelous three-manual Austin pipe organ is the foundation of our music.
