Julia Graham and Mary Everett chair the Flower Committee of the Guild - the committee that seeks your help in providing flowers to grace our altar and then grace the homes of persons in our fellowship.
Here Mary, sporting her 2000 sweater, rings our church bell following quiet meditation in our sanctuary on December 31, 1999. When you hear our bell in the future, remember that it is also calling you to help in this ministry of flowers which Mary describes below. Contact Mary or call (914-723-2111) or e-mail the church office to respond to this call.
If you wonder how we fund the flowers for the altar each Sunday, the answer is through your memorials and celebrations! Anyone may donate funding for a floral arrangement. We will have the flowers arranged or ordered based upon your preferences. The cost of an average arrangement is $40. It is really easy, and a simple way to brighten our morning services.
Once you've found a Sunday which works for you and for the Flower Committee, please send your check, payable to SCC Guild, to:
After the service, the flowers are taken by our Pastoral Assistance Committee to our church members and friends. We often receive notes of appreciation, explaining how the flowers brighten their day and make them feel close to the church family even though they are unable to be in attendance.
