Celebrating Lolly Worden's Leadership

Who's Who

Lolly Worden in front of the new Lolly Worden Garden "I love clothing. One day I said out loud, we need to have a clothing sale." This is how Lolly Worden described on Sunday, June 4, the birth of the now-famous clothing sales conducted by the Guild.

As this picture was taken Lolly protested having a garden dedicated to her. "It should honor all who work so hard on these sales." Lolly is in the center. To the left is Bonnie Mitchell, outgoing Guild president. On the right is Diane Foster who arranged for the garden, a gift from the Guild.

During the June 4 worship service, Bonnie read the following tribute to Lolly. Responded the humble Lolly, "If I'd known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have come to church."

Dear Lolly, a certain Greek person that I know likes to say that NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED. So here we are. YOUR great good deeds are now receiving their proper punishment.

Seriously - you must understand that we need to recognize your significant leadership. With the unanimous support of the Guild, and with the wonderful help of Diane Foster - I can now invite YOU and everyone here today, after the service, to come over to the office building and visit the new LOLLY WORDEN GARDEN, lovingly created and dedicated in your honor.

Thank you Lolly, for ELEVEN years of devotion to chairing our clothing sales, thank you for staying on board for future sales ,

We hope that this little garden will remind you, and everyone else, just how very grateful we are for you.

Bless you.
