Confirmation Class is a one-year program for eighth graders taught by clergy. Through discussions, bible study and special events, students have the opportunity to focus their religious beliefs while gaining a wider view of the role of religion in our culture.

In past years the class attended services in other houses of worship, undertook service projects and explored the history of various major religions including the United Church of Christ. Members also helped with the life of the church such as helping with the Family Fair, Family Christmas Service, Maundy Thursday and Family Easter Service.

Classes are held weekly starting in October, and begin with a light supper provided by a member of the class. Members are expected to attend every class in addition to attending twelve Sunday worship services during the year.

Those who choose to become members of Scarsdale Congregational Church at the completion of Confirmation Class covenant with the Church and are welcomed into membership at a Sunday morning worship service in May, which is conducted by the confirmation class.
