Candlelight Vigil to End Gun Violence

A Candlelight Vigil to End Gun Violence will be held at Church. All are invited to the vigil, which is in observance of the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in CT, as well as to grieve the 500,000 Americans that have been killed or injured by gun violence since Sandy Hook in December 2012.  The Scarsdale Congregational Church, UCC, is holding the vigil in partnership with the Newtown Foundation, Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Women’s March, and others.  Several clergy members will be present and the program will include readings, prayers, and music.  The SCC’s incoming minister, the Rev. Kelly Hough Rogers, will speak about her experience as a first responder following the Sandy Hook tragedy.  The Scarsdale Congregational Church's Interfaith Coalition Against Gun Violence organized this Vigil and is examining ways that people can help to end gun violence.  If you are interested in joining this effort, please leave a message for Pat Colella at 914-723-2111
