Music Director Sandro Russo seeks to enhance worship by employing his artistic abilities toward a diverse range of music, infusing it with a high sense of poetry and style. Born in Italy, Mr. Russo holds performance degrees with honors from the V. Bellini Conservatory and the Royal College of Music in London. He has won top honors in numerous competitions and has performed as a soloist in many renowned music venues around the world. Mr. Russo has given organ recitals in such venues as the St. Ouen Abbey in Rouen, France; the Mission Dolores Basilica in San Francisco; the Church of the Epiphany in Washington, D.C.; the Cathedral of St. Matthew’s the Apostle in D.C.; among others. His recent recital at the Princeton University Chapel was broadcasted live by WWFM.  In the spring of 2019, Mr. Russo inaugurated at the Scarsdale Congregational Church a unique, piano/organ double-bill recital project, later repeated across the country, featuring Franz Liszt’s two Weimar masterpieces: the Piano Sonata in B-minor and the organ Fantasy on Ad nos, ad salutarem undam. Since then, he has expanded this double-bill concept to include other works for piano and organ. Mr. Russo was named a Steinway Artist in 2015 and has made several recordings for the Steinway & Sons label.
